Workshop: Curriculum and Pedagogy from Gender Perspective

The content and methods of education may be (and often are) gender biased. The goal of the workshop was to identify risk areas in the formal and non-formal curricula and show how to detect and eliminate gender stereotypes. Gender equality in education can be achieved only via the combination of intereference into the educational system. The workshop was led by PhDr. Irena Smetáčková, Ph.D.

Workshop with Yellow Window in Prague: "Gender Equality & Research: What is it about?"

The workshop was held on 25 September 2015 at the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague.

The Yellow Window training presented the importance of promoting gender equality in scientific research. It introduced practical tools to integrate gender aspects into research, including equal opportunities for women and men AND the gender dimension of research, thereby contributing to excellence in research.

Both activities were organized by the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague and The Centre for Gender and Science as part of the TRIGGER project.

NKC CLUB: the 3rd Annual Meeting

The third annual meeting was held in the Academic Conference Centre (AKC) on 23 June 2015. The main guest of the evening was Professor Jana Roithová who gave a speech about her path to professorship.  The audience was interested in obstacles a woman scientist faces in her scientific career. 

NKC CLUB: the 2nd Annual Meeting

The second annual meeting of the NKC CLUB was held on 24 June 2014 in Brno. This year, the annual meeting focused on academic mobility, its benefits, risks and drawbacks. The audience discussed how mobility affects private and family life of mobile scholars, their partners and children. Read more


NKC CLUB Workshop on Cultural and Institutional Change

The workshop on cultural and institutional change was the first one of its kind organized to introduce the concept of the 'cultural and institutional change' to Czech researchers and administrators.


The message of the first meeting was clear: there is no 'human resource management' in research worthy of the name.
