Blanka Nyklová studied humanities at the Faculty of Humanities, Charles University, where she first encoutered Feminist Studies.

She continued with Media Studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University. She is currently completing her PhD in Sociology. She focuses on the Czech feminist scene, its image in the media and the internal situation. In the long term she has been devoted to English language, among other things, she worked as a translator and interpreter in the state administration. It was exactly here where her interest in language and gender linguistics was born.

She worked as an editor at the gitA gender press agency. Since 2009, she is dedicated to the teaching of Gender Studies in the context of American CIEE program in Prague. From 2014, she is also teaching a course Visual Culture and Socialism (together with Petr Gibas) at the Faculty of Humanities. She joined NKC Gender & Science as a researcher in June 2014.
